Day 1
Arrival, Check-in and Local Sightseeing
- You will be GREETED by Drukair representative at the airport.
- You’ll start your journey into the Himalayan kingdom with a drive to Thimphu.
- In the afternoon, you’ll have time to adjust to the altitude while visiting:
- Memorial Chorten, a large stupa dedicated to the third king of Bhutan.
- Buddha Point (Kuenselphodrang), home to one of the largest Buddha statues in the world.
- Sangaygang, offering stunning views of the valley below.
- Overnight at Thimphu


Day 2
Thimphu To Paro
Morning
- Travel to Paro and visit:
- Ta Dzong, Bhutan’s National Museum, which offers stunning panoramic views of the valley.
- Next, head down to Paro Dzong, the Fortress on a Heap of Jewels, known for its intricate architecture and rich history.
- The path passes the main archery range, where Bhutan’s national sport is played, and the Ugyen Pelri Palace, a royal residence with beautiful gardens. Finally, cross the historic Nyamai Zam bridge over the Paro Chhu river before reaching Paro town.


Day 2
Thimphu To Paro
Evening
- Travel through pine forests to the beautiful Zurig Dzong, a fortified monastery offering breathtaking views of Paro.
- Before returning to the hotel, your guide can arrange a visit to a local monastery for a butter lamp ceremony, offering a spiritual blessing and welcoming to the kingdom. The ritual aims to remove ignorance and promote harmony.

Day 3
Paro Valley – Taktsang walk
- Today’s activities centre on the historic Paro Valley and end with a visit to the Taktsang “Tiger’s Nest” Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most significant architectural masterpieces. Going even higher to see isolated temples is an option if time permits.
- You return to Paro after lunch, which can be either a packed picnic or food from the quaint Taktsang café. Here, you can unwind on your last night by exploring Paro Town or relax.
- Difficulty of hike: Moderate to hard

- National Institute for Zorig Chusum: A school where students learn 13 traditional Bhutanese arts.
- Simtokha Dzong: Bhutan’s oldest dzong, built in 1616.
- Takin Zoo: Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the takin.
- Craft market: A vibrant market where you can find handmade Bhutanese crafts and souvenirs.

Day 3
Thimphu To Punakha
Drive to Punakha from Thimphu: A 3-4 hour drive through the scenic Dochu La pass, offering views of chortens, prayer flags, and the Himalayas. Visit:
- Chimi Lhakhang: The fertility temple, famous for its blessings. Punakha Dzong: The majestic fortress at the meeting point of the Pho and Mo rivers.
- Suspension Bridge: Walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge in the evening for beautiful views.

Punakha
The tour takes you on a scenic walk through farms and homesteads to the royal family’s hilltop shrine, Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.

Punakha To Paro
Morning: Drive back across Dochu La pass for another breathtaking view of the Himalayas, with a stop at the Botanical Garden on the way to Paro. At Chuzom, see the three neighboring shrines, each with its unique architecture.
Visit Tamchog Lhakhang temple before continuing your journey to Paro. In Paro, explore Ta Dzong, Bhutan’s National Museum, offering panoramic views of the valley. Pass by the main archery range, the Ugyen Pelri Palace, and cross the historic Nyamai Zam bridge into Paro town.

Punakha To Phobjikha
After breakfast, drive to the remote valley of Phobjikha. This valley is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and rest for a while.
Take a 2.5-hour hike on the Phobjikha Nature Trail, offering beautiful valley views, ending at the stunning Gangtey Goempa temple.
Visit the Crane Centre to learn about the endangered Black Necked Cranes that migrate to Bhutan from October to February. .

Day 6
Phobjikha
Explore Phobjikha Valley: Take a walk or bike ride to enjoy the landscapes, traditional farmhouses, and meadows.
Visit Khewang Lhakhang: A peaceful Monastery learn about local culture and history.
Farm Visit: Experience traditional rural life by visiting a local farm, with optional activities like milking cows or harvesting crops.
End the day with a relaxing dinner or enjoy a traditional hot stone bath.
Overnight: Gangtey Lodge, Phobjikha


Day 7
Punakha To Bumthang
Arrive in Bumthang and check into your hotel. Take some time to settle in and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the region.
Visit Jambay Lhakhang: One of the oldest and most significant temples in Bhutan. It’s a great place to learn about the history of Buddhism in Bhutan.
Walk through Jakar Town: Stroll around the charming town of Jakar, which is known for its peaceful vibe and traditional buildings. You can explore local shops selling handicrafts and textiles.
Overnight at Bumthang


Day 8
Bumthang
Bumthang Nature Trail: Start the day with a morning nature walk or short trek along one of the trails around the valley. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding forests and valleys.
Visit the Mebar Tso (Burning Lake): A sacred lake located near the village of Tang, where the famous Lama Pema Lingpa is believed to have discovered treasure. The lake is a beautiful and spiritual place, perfect for some quiet reflection.
Visit the Ura Village if time permits: A picturesque village located higher in the valley. Take a scenic drive or hike to Ura, where you can experience traditional Bhutanese village life and visit the Ura Lhakhang, a peaceful temple.
Explore the Bumthang Valley: Take a leisurely walk or bike ride through the valley. Admire the serene landscape with lush green fields, traditional farmhouses, and apple orchards (Bumthang is famous for its apples)..


Day 9
Bumthang To Paro
Begin your journey early in the morning after breakfast. The road from Bumthang to Paro offers beautiful landscapes, so it’s ideal to start early to enjoy the scenic drive.
The road from Bumthang to Paro winds through beautiful valleys, with the chance to witness rural life, traditional farmhouses, and majestic mountain views along the way.
Arrive in Paro in the evening and check into your hotel. If time permits visit:
- National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong) and enjoy the beautiful view of Paro valley.
- Take some time to relax and freshen up after the long drive.
